Dashboards and Snapshots: Let Your Data Do the Talking

>>View Presentation Slides

Data can be found on every page you visit in your site, but viewing the data one page at a time makes it difficult to get a clear picture of the trends of activity in all the historical information that has accumulated.  That's where Dashboards come in.  A dashboard of your activity history gives you and other administrators the ability to view trends, highlighting your successes, or focusing on areas needing attention.  Dashboards can be a tool for resource planning and budget justification.  This year, Terra Dotta has developed a framework for standard charts and dashboard reports, piloting this framework in a project for the University of Kentucky.  UK's International Center wished to produce a set of dashboard-style charts and reports to show a two-year comparison of participation in education abroad, breaking down the numbers across multiple dimensions of geography, demographics and academics.  In this session, Summer Eglinski from UK Education Abroad will talk in detail about the project and the data that it has been able to bring into view.
